Feb. 11 was the biggest night in the dog world the annual Westminster Dog Show. Pooches from around the country traveled to the Big Apple to try to take the coveted Best in Show award. So who gets to go to Sardi’s this year?
Westminster Dog Show Winner 2014 Meet Sky The Wire Fox Terrier
Sky, who was also the #1 show dog in the country last year, beat out a standard poodle, a Portuguese water dog, bloodhound, an Irish water spaniel, a Cardigan Welsh corgi and a miniature pinscher to win Best in Show. Ally the standard poodle was chosen as the runner-up.
This was the 14th time a wire fox terrier has won the title at the nation’s top dog show. Way to go, Sky!
Sky The Wire Fox Terrier Was A Favorite
It’s no surprise that Sky won, because heading into the competition, he was a favorite.
The other classic favorites at the Westminster show were Matisse the Portuguese water dog, Swagger the old English sheep dog, an Irish water spaniel named Riley, and Fifinator, a Doberman (who, yes, has her own Facebook page).
But apparently it was Sky’s year. And though we pretty much loved every dog that gaited around during the competition, we have to admit that Sky is the cutest thing we've ever seen.
