News: Sonic Boom announced for Wii U 3DS

Developed by Californian studio Big Red Button Entertainment in collaboration with Sonic Team, Sonic Boom introduces a brand new look for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and promises to deliver a "totally different experience to previous Sonic games".
The game appears to have been built around the concept of co-op play and introduces a variety of new mechanics, including the a Enerbeam tether that will let players explore the world in "totally unique ways".

Alongside the new game, the Sonic Boom universe will also be supported by a brand new toy line and a 52 episode CG-animated TV series set after the events of the game. News: Sonic Team developing new Sonic titles in parallel with Sonic Boom

SEGA's Japanese Sonic Team will continue to develop new Sonic titles in parallel with Big Red Button's Wii U title Sonic Boom, producer Takashi Iizuka has revealed.
In addition, Sonic Boom – which was revealed by SEGA last night – will not release in Japan, instead launching only in western territories.
The news follows rumours earlier this week that a new Sonic title could launch on Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015, following Sonic Boom's release later this year.
The rumours emerged from an image snapped at a German toy fair, which notes that a "new 2015 title TBA" is set to ship on the three platforms next year.
SEGA later claimed that the information was "incorrect", adding that it "has yet to announce details of upcoming console video games for Sonic the Hedgehog".
